Grade 4 Enjoying a Day at the Ballpark!


Fourth grade enjoyed a hot day at the Binghamton Mets Stadium and getting a chance to hang out with the team mascot (pictured above). Students had the opportunity to take in a national pastime that many enjoy. The Binghamton Mets played the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

Susquehanna County Elementary Principal's Luncheon


On Tuesday, May 18 the Susquehanna County Elementary Principal's honored each school's Principal's Award Winner for 2010. Blue Ridge, Montrose (Lathrop St and Choconut Valley), Forest City, Elk Lake, Mt. View, and Susquehanna were represented. Our winner for 2010 was fifth grader Kyle Bayle.

Better Speech and Hearing Month


In the picture above Mrs. McFadden, BR speech therapist is recognizing speech therapy month with a contest for the students called "Sink your teeth into great communication and hearing." The students had to guess how many teeth were in a jar. Daniel Tierney was the winner!

Dome Theater



On May 12 the BR elementary school had the opportunity to experience the Dome Theater a Mobile Planetarium. Each grade was able to view a 30 minute science related show. The shows students were able to watch were:
Dinosaur Prophecy
Microcosm
Earth's Wild Ride
Fantasy Worlds



District 9 Chorus Festival




On Friday, May 7, five students from Blue Ridge Elementary School attended the District 9 Chorus Fest held at Dallas Middle School. Throughout the day, they rehearsed under the direction of Mr. Nino Bennici with over 150 students from other elementary schools in the area. On Friday evening, they presented a wonderful concert for parents and friends. The Blue Ridge students are to be commended for being well-prepared and representing our school well at the festival!
