PreK students were asked "How do you make yarn?"

Miss Barb Gallagher took time out of her very busy day on her sheep farm in Jackson, PA to show Blue Ridge Pre-K children one of her lambs (Babe). She showed them how wool is spun into yarn, colored, and then made into clothing. She also explained the difference between cotton and wool, showing samples of each material. This activity was done as a follow-up to our theme "In the City, In the Country" where the children learned about the difference between the two places. They also learned about where products come from before going to the market or store (i.e.. milk comes from cows). The students enjoyed watching as she spun the wool and fed the lamb and especially loved petting "Babe".
