1st Grade Appreciation Tea

First grade students and teachers held their 3rd annual Appreciation Tea. Students and their loved ones were involved in many activities in the first grade pod area. In Mrs. Trieble's classroom, families created a firefly craft together and then flew over to Mrs. Orner's classroom where they created a firelfy snack. Before the fireflies flew away, they ate it up and headed to Mrs. Farrell's room. There they got a family picture taken by Northeast Exposure and decorated a picture frame. Next students headed to Mrs. Button's class where they read "The Night Before Summer Vacation" and tested their senses. Students had to smell and identify all sorts of summer foods! Yum! Finally to end the Appreciation Tea, families were invited to the auditorium to hear students recite a a poem entitled "When You Thought I Wasn't Looking" and to sing a song by Alicia Keys entitled "No One." Students did a lovely job and there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. Thanks to everyone who made this event successful!
