Loyalty Day is May 1^st. Loyalty Day is a special day for people to reaffirm their loyalty to the United States of America and to recognize the heritage of American freedom. Loyalty Day originally began as “Americanization Day” in 1921. Through a resolution adopted in 1949, May 1^st evolved into Loyalty Day. In 1958, Congress enacted a public law proclaiming Loyalty Day a permanent fixture on the nation’s calendar.
